It works, you It's an old game so its not gonna be easy, you need to mount the iso, open the CD, inside on the setup u have to open settings set comp for Windows xp, and admin mode, some time one more box works, this way u bypass the setup not pasting all the files, after install put the no cd with patch. Only bug so far I have is cursor lag in menus, not in game. Great game.

I have a cd version of it and am tying to get it working now - looking for help for windows 10, - i can say that also when i do any install from the cd it only looks like a few files are installed to the harddrive also - though if i check the folder size its close to 600meg, which is what the back of the case says for required disk space, - so check what the folder size is with your install.

Seems the data1 and data2.cab files are corrupt, only a few files are installed to disk. Try to get the ISO for this game elsewhere.
I remember playing this on my ATI Radeon 9550 back in the day so I don't think it needs an NVIDIA gpu..

Nvidia video card2019-04-140 point

I played this when it originally came out. You need widows 95/98/ME, and a Nvidia video card, and all the patches to get it to work. It only works with Nvidia.

Doesn't work.2019-04-14-1 point

GAME QUESTIONS ANSWERS

1. How do I activate devices on my ships?
Some devices will be activated immediately once you enter the game, others, such as the Quantum Torpedo upgrade, you will need to click on in order to 'apply' the upgrade. To do this, select the ship with the upgrade, then click the cargo button. You will see a small picture of the device. Right-click on the device to apply it. Your ship will now have that enhancement active!
2. Can I save my fleet setup?
Hit EXIT button. The menu should pop up allowing you to save.
3. I can't figure out the save interface!
Click on one of saved games (or even AUTOSAVE). Hit backspace-key until the name at the bottom box is gone. Enter new save gamename (no space allowed). Hit enter-key to save. To overwriteexisting game, don't change the name.
WARNING: overwriting existing game may CRASH the system. Deleteextra saves when you exit the game.
4. What do the different crews do?
Security: capture enemy ships, or guard against capture.
Engineering: repair damage to ship (cannot repair destroyed components)
Command: allow ship to go above 1/4 impulse.
5. What are those 'medals'?
They add a slight bonus to each captain in the differentareas. I didn't find them to have any significant effect. I alsodon't see how captains receive them. They seem to be randomdepending mainly on the number of kills.
6. My shields drop for no reason!
You probably entered a nebula. The computer should have warnedyou 'entering nebula'. Shields don't work in the nebula.Sometimes ion storm is also referred to as a nebula.
7. One of my ships just stopped responding to commands!
If you captured enemy ship(s), this can sometimes happen. Theonly way to regain control is to destroy the captured ship(s)until you are back to six ships (or less).
8. What is that triangle with rounded corners on the screen/map?
That's one of your objectives. Remember the briefing screen?
9. What's that tall thin box with a little head and tail on the screen/map?
That's a patrol point. You have to reach (fly near) all ofthem in the mission to accomplish one of the objectives, usuallypatrol.
10. Some of my ship's items are inoperative no matter the number of engineers!
Destroyed items cannot be repaired.
11. I can't issue accurate movement orders by clicking in the 3D screen!
Try clicking the location on the mini-map (scanner map) instead. Zoom in to be more precise.
